    Description

    Banquet Manager is responsible for: training and directing the banquet staff in servicing all the banquet activities; ensuring a successful function and repeat business.

    This is a management position.

     

    Essential Functions         

    • Communicates directly with client to coordinate all group activities and needs.
    • Supervises the food and beverage services of banquet functions, including set-up, service, and breakdown.
    • Finalizes all details of catering functions, upselling menus whenever possible. Serves as guest contact during event.
    • Circulates through each Banquet function to ensure guest satisfaction. Sincerely seeks guest comments and quickly and willingly handles any complaints.
    • Prepares and checks all catering event orders and function sheets or other relevant forms as they arise. Assures that appropriate departments receive any changes.
    • Checks banquet rooms, service, and kitchen areas for cleanliness, proper set up, and sufficient supplies and equipment.
    • Inspects catering set ups prior to start of the function for correct set up
    • Works closely with the F&B Director on pricing strategies
    • Ensures billing is correct.
    • Holds periodic meetings with Banquet staff to review past and future performance of service, quality, and general information concerning guest and employee relations, and upcoming daily functions.
    • Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness. Instruct designated personnel to rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies.
    • Establish par levels for supplies and equipment. Complete requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business.
    • Requisition linens/skirting required for business and assign staff to transport such to the storage areas

    Requirements

    Requirements include: comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage preparations; service standards; guest relations and etiquette; and a minimum of two years of banquet captain or food and beverage supervisory experience.
