    Position Title: Senior Housekeeping Supervisor      

    Department: Housekeeping

    Reports To: Director of Housekeeping      

    FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt Hourly

     

    Job Requirements:

     

    The primary function of this position is to oversee and direct the day to day tasks of the Housekeeping Supervisors while assisting with leading the housekeeping team.  Provide training, feedback and support on a daily basis in our continuing efforts to provide exceptional guest service, a collaborative work environment for the team and meet profitability goals of the hotel.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Supervise the effective operation of the Housekeeping Department Supervisors
    • Provide on-going training and direction to Supervisors on brand standards, department / hotel expectations for room inspections and non-guest areas and ensure a learning environment is in place. 
    • Conduct regular inspections with Supervisors of the entire hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness, sanitation and maintenance standards
    • Conduct regular Inspections with Supervisors in guest rooms, public space and back-of-the-house areas for compliance with all brand standards are in place
    • Coordinate room maintenance needs with the Engineering Department and take preventative measures where necessary to ensure condition of rooms, public spaces and back of house needs are communicated, tracked and completed.
    • Ensure the completion of daily tasks for Supervisors, Room Attendants and Houseman within the shift
    • Coordinate special requests with team to ensure timely delivery of expected items
    • Create guest satisfaction by providing associates with the training and resources they need to maximize associate engagement, deliver quality results and promote teamwork.
    • Help maintain accurate par levels and inventory of supplies and equipment within the department.
    • Ensure status of rooms are properly entered into all systems, ie. Vacant Ready, Vacant Dirty, Occupied etc.
    • Monitor performance of Supervisors, Room Attendants and Houseman and report opportunities to Director of Housekeeping
    • Provide assistance to Housekeeping management team as needed or requested
    • Attend all department and hotel meetings as necessary
    • Be a leader and a role model to all associates.
    • Follow Standard Operating Procedures as outlined

    Requirements

    Education & Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED Required
    • Two years Housekeeping Supervisor / Inspector / Floor Supervisor experience in hotels
    • Marriott systems experience required

     Physical Requirements:

    • Work in a cooperative and professional manner with fellow employees
    • Maintain professional and appropriate attire and follow grooming standards
    • Maintain accurate and efficient communication with all departments
    • Promptly report unsafe or substandard conditions to management
    • Long hours sometimes required, including weekends and holidays
    • Must be able to frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, carry, lift or otherwise move objects.
    • Must be able to bend, squat crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis.
