    Overview: The Hyatt Place / Hyatt House Complex is a dual branded property which mixes the extended-stay, residential-style rooms of the Hyatt House and the modern and comfortable style rooms of the Hyatt Place. All rooms offer the comforts of home such as flat panel HDTVs and free high-speed internet access. Our public space features a pool, fitness center and business center.


    Job Description: The cook is primarily responsible for preparing food items according to recipes and standards while taking pride in the excellence and quality of cuisine. Maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:                                                                                               

    • Expedites all menu items accurately.
    • Follow recipes to prepare food items accurately
    • Wash, peel and cut fruits and vegetables
    • Sets up and breakdowns the cooking line.
    • Assists in sorting all deliveries – daily requisitions.
    • Assists in any area needed when time allows.
    • Informs management immediately of safety issues – equipment failure.
    • Informs management immediately of food quality issues – food spoilage.
    • Maintain a clean and sanitized work area including cutting boards, counters and work spaces.
    • Exhibits proper handling of all food products.
    • Exhibits a positive “can do” attitude.
    • Wears and maintains proper attire.
    • All other duties requested by management team.
    • All other duties detailed in the Pyramid Hotel Group manual.

    Education and/or Experience: Experience in basic line cooking – proper food handling, reheating/cooling and proper food stroage.  Must have excellent organizational skills. Experienced and organized in line set up.  Communicates effectively with all other staff.  Open to learning new methods of cooking and understands basic knowledge of food sanitation.      


    Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills:  Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisor and fellow employees.  Must be able to make appropriate judgments regarding the cooking responsibilities.

    Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Candidate must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and be able to work long hours/split shifts and be able to handle stressful conditions.  Frequently required to walk and stand for long periods of time.  Requires ability to reach, grab, and feel.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


    HoursDue to the seasonal nature of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime.  Also, depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.
