    Description

    Come join our team!  The Luxe City Center has an opening for a Steward.

     

    SCOPE

    Responsible for washing dishes and pots and pans, cooking equipment as well as cleaning kitchen areas.  Keep the dish area and all equipment clean and organized. 

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Loads, runs, and unloads dish machine
    • Keeps the dish machine clean and reports any functional or mechanical problems immediately
    • Monitors dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
    • Washes and stores all tableware and kitchenware
    • Keeps dish area clean and organized
    • Maintains adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
    • Bags and hauls dish area trash to dumpster at designed times
    • Handles tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
    • Maintains adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
    • Cleans food preparation and production areas as required
    • Is available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
    • Sweeps and mops floor once every hour as needed.

    Note: other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

    Requirements

    • Be able to work in a hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods of time
    • Be physically able to lift, reach, bend, and stoop
    • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
    • Be able to safely lift bags, cases, and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift

    Experience

    • Hotel or restaurant experience preferred

    Certification

    • Must have a current food handlers certification

    Hours or Work

    • Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week with flexible shifts/days. Likely to include weekends, holidays and overtime.
