    Hotel Eleo at the University of Florida, scheduled to open in April 2020, is one of the newest hotels to join the Pyramid Hotel Group Family.     Join our opening team at our all-new 173-room Hotel Eleo at the University of Florida as our Director Sales & Marketing and become a part of UF’s beloved Gator Nation!  Scheduled to open in April 2020, the hotel will represent the UF Health Complex in the same manner of each guest that graces our grounds; “as a symbol of caring, compassion and innovation for Gainesville and beyond.”  We are seeking an energetic revenue minded-leader who will lead, motivate, drive all pre & post opening initiatives by successfully positioning the hotel.


    This role will also support e-commerce and revenue management teams to establish the hotel for future success by creating exposure via social media, website and rate positioning. The DOSM will maintain positive interdepartmental communications; contribute to the overall direction of the independent hotel and effectively manage all sales and marketing expenses while exceeding overall budgeted revenues and RevPAR goals. Success will be initially measured through a successful launch of this new hotel by driving direct sales, group and catering pre-sell revenues, account acquisition, driving new customer value and ultimately achieving RevPAR Index goals. 


    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Execute Pre-Opening Critical Path and Action Plans
    • Achieve individual and overall revenue and business development goals
    • Develop, maintain and implement strategies/action plans to generate revenues for Hotel Eleo
    • Motivate future productivity of all sales team members through leadership, development and support
    • Create, design and leverage all pre-opening, advertising and public relations initiatives
    • Use resources and data to develop strategic plans to sell segments. These plans will incorporate both guest expectations and company goals relative to revenue
    • Embrace Pyramid Hotel Group sales and business processes, support corporate and hotel goals
    • Develop and execute tactical sales processes that support the hotel’s critical past and future strategic plan
    • Prepare and manage annual marketing plan and develop budgets for travel and other business expense
    • Successfully lead all pre-opening sales & marketing efforts



    • A four-year degree or equivalent experience or education is required
    • Five years’ experience within hotels sales, with two years minimum as department head (such as Director, Group Sales) is required
    • Experience opening a hotel in a similar hotel environment is desired
    • Strong understanding of hospital, local corporate and consortia business and strong business relationships with Online/Travel Agencies
    • Business planning skills and budget management skills
    • Ability to scan and assess the competitive arena as it relates to region and segment to refine / improve customer value proposition
    • Experience with Delphi FDC platform a plus
