    Description

    We're looking for an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team with Hideout at The Laylow.

     

    The role of our Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing the culinary experience at our award winning Hideout restaurant.  The Executive Chef is responsbile for all food production, develop menus, food purchase specifications and recipes. Supervise staff. Monitor food and labor budget for the department. Maintain highest professional food quality and sanitation standards

    Requirements

    ·         High School Diploma or GED required.

    ·         5+ years in similar role.

    ·         Understanding of professional cooking and banquet production.

    ·         Great understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.

    ·         Previous executive chef / executive sous chef experience required.

    ·         Professional communication skills are required.

    ·         Ability to take and give direction.

    ·         Ability to work in a team environment.

    ·         Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.

    ·         Ability to appreciate and enjoy a diverse environment

    ·         Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized.

    ·         Commitment to quality service and food and beverage knowledge.

    ·         Serv Safe certification required.

    ·         Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.

    ·         Must be able to speak, read and understand cooking directions.

    ·         Computer skills required: Microsoft Office and Windows

    ·         Previous experience in upscale hotel environment with modern, progressive cuisine preferred

    •      Island Experience Preferred
