    We have an amazing opportunity to get on board with a world class team as the sales and marketing leader for the Hanover Inn at Dartmouth College. Our beautiful hotel is located less than two hours from downtown Boston in the picturesque New England town of Hanover, New Hampshire; featuring 108 guest rooms, over 11,000 square feet of renovated state- of-the-art function space and our  Fine Dining Restaurant, The Pines!

    Leading the Sales and Marketing efforts, you must be self motivated with exceptional communication skills and solid business sense.

     

    The ideal candidate for this hands-on position will lead and manage the Sales and Marketing team ensuring a high level of professionalism, guest service and profitability using their experience in a large, full-service hotel of a comparable (or upscale) brand . The Director of Sales and Marketing will be responsible for the following:

    • Develop strong partnerships with local organizations and associations to further increase Hanover Inn brand/product awareness.
    • Develop and manage internal key stakeholder relationships.
    • Develop strong community and public relations by maintaining property participation in local, regional and national trade-shows and client events.
    • Execute exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and monitoring their experience before and during their program/event.
    • Serve the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their requirements and exceed their expectations, while building relationships and loyalty to the Hanover Inn.
    • Show consistent leadership of the sales department while creating synergy between the departments which fosters increased revenue and maximizes overall revenue and profitability.
    • Have a comprehensive understanding of,  and experience in yearly budget preparation and monthly forecasting, for room revenue, catering and food and beverage.
    • Develop sales goals and strategies that are aligned with hotel leadership and hotel ownership.
    • Collaborate with revenue management in developing effective revenue strategies and setting aggressive goals that will drive the property’s financial performance.
    • Ensure effective processes and performance management tools are in place and being utilized.
    • Set goals and expectations for direct reports, align performance rewards and address performance challenges.

    Requirements

    • 4 year college degree preferred, ideally in Hospitality and Tourism and/or Business/Marketing.
    • Experience with Delphi and Excel preferred.
    • Director of Sales experience in a large full service hotel of a comparable (or upscale) brand, market position, market mix and average rate level.
    • Full and/or Select Service with food and beverage experience required.
    • In depth knowledge and experience in budgeting and business planning.
    • In depth knowledge and experience in Room and Catering, Food and Beverage and Meeting Room Rental promotions.
