Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to understand requests, respond with appropriate action and provide accurate information such as outlet hours and local attractions. - Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information with routine difficulty from a computer system, confirming pertinent information including number of guests and room rate. Promote Hotel's marketing programs. Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guest needs. Code electronic keys. Non-verbally confirm the room number and rate. Provide welcome folders containing room keys, certificates, coupons and refreshment center keys as appropriate. Requires continual standing and movement throughout front office area. - Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods. Handle cash, make change and balance an assigned house bank. Accept and record vouchers, travellers checks, and other forms of payment. Convert foreign currency at current posted rates. Perform accurate, moderately complex arithmetic functions using a calculator. Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the computer. - Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear English communication. Input messages into the computer. Retrieve messages and communicate the content to the guest. Retrieve mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested. - Close guest accounts at time of check out and ascertain satisfaction. In the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromise, which may include authorizing revenue allowances. - Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency and/or heavy hotel activity, and resolve complications such as location changes or credit issues. - Field guest complaints, conducting through research to develop the most effective solutions and negotiate results. Listen and extend assistance in order to resolve problems such as price conflicts, insufficient heating or air conditioning, etc.  Take ownership of guests challenges and follow through to ensure guest satisfaction. Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity. Plan and implement detailed steps by using experienced judgement and discretion. Other: Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Pyramid Hotel Groups from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. The Catering & Conference Services Manager provides quality, value-added, professional service that meets or exceeds our guests’ expectations. The primary functions of this role are to secure and develop the corporate and social events, with responsibility for maintaining existing clients and cultivating potential new meetings and events.  Additionally, the Catering & Conference Services Manager is the main liaison between the sales/hotel operational departments and the client. As primary contact for clients, this role is responsible for the total coordination and servicing of the client’s program, including all on-site events, accommodations, meal functions and billing. This position is responsible for coordinating all sales and service activities generated through the direct and indirect sales solicitation in their assigned market.    The primary responsibilities for the Catering Sales Manager include but are not limited to: - Responsible for booking corporate, wedding and social events at prevailing menu pricing, while working with the client to ensure all requirements and expectations from beginning to end are fulfilled. - Profitability will be maximized by insisting on maximum yield of function space, by accurate forecasting, by proper menu pricing, and by monitoring expenses. - Develop and maintain an effective office organization that is sales oriented and interrelates with the hotel sales and marketing effort in a synergistic fashion. - Ensure the maximization of departmental profitability by ensuring proper menu pricing, accurate billing, efficient delivery and following all approved credit policies and procedures. - Ensure excellent communication between all departments throughout the hotel regarding all events and detail any requirements of services to be provided by other hotel departments. - Work closely with the Banquet Manager to ensure and maintain levels of service. - Effectively up-sells throughout the pre-event and event phase. Areas of up-sell and cross-sell include room rental, food & beverage, audio visual, and any other amenities. - Manages group room blocks and meeting space of assigned groups. - Communicates with client to ensure that the proper space is blocked – communicate any changes to Sales Managers to ensure “smart selling”. - Organizes and conducts pre- and post- event meetings for assigned groups when requested by the client or hotel. - Obtains Direct Billing code from Accounting prior to cut-off date, to ensure proper billing is established. Collaborates with Sales Managers to identify any problems. - Obtain rooming lists, monitor cut-off dates, billing procedures and room lists by the assigned due date and in accordance with the sales contract. - Manages requests for additional rooms by coordinating with Sales, Reservations and Revenue Management to quote the prevailing rate. - Educates clients on the value of the rooms above and beyond their block. - Advises client of their contractual obligations as it relates to the performance of their program, while managing the potential attrition and food & beverage minimum commitments as outlined in the contract. - Maintains all group files after the contract is signed and the group is turned definite by the Sales Manager. Upon receiving the file, reviews the program as noted and checks to see that it is correctly noted in the system and corresponds with the signed contract.  Discusses discrepancies with Sales Manager. - Creates and distributes Banquet Event Orders no more than 30 days prior to function date. All banquet event orders must be signed by the client prior to the event. This will serve as the final confirmation. - Obtains all necessary information to complete the group resume in a timely manner, distributes group resume a minimum of 10 days prior to arrival date of the group. Reviews all group resumes at weekly Resume meeting. - Attends and participates in weekly Sales and Revenue meetings. - Responsible for the organization and distribution of Banquet Event Orders (BEO). - Assist in fielding all phone inquiries pertaining to Sales and Catering. - Maintains accurate and neat files of each group’s final program food and beverage consumption, attrition, no shows, and final pick-up for future reference and back up. - Displays knowledge of meeting room configuration, dimensions, and capacities. Works with client to educate them on preferred room sets and creates floor plans to establish feasibility of the set. Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably specializing in Hospitality, Sales or equivalent experience is required. Experience: Must have at least two (2) or more years of strong Catering Sales experience, with previous experience in a hotel environment preferred, or other related/equivalent field may be considered.

The Laundry Attendant will: - Operate washing and drying equipment, load and unload laundry from machines. Measure and administer cleaning agents to laundry according to product specifications. - Monitor feeder information on washers, make sure all drums are full, and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor. - Empty the laundry chute and prepare loads for washer. - Pre-sort and separate linen by classification and transfer by lifting, carrying or transporting to work stations. - Run folding equipment to fold mats, blankets, towels, bedspreads, etc. - Separate out laundry requiring mending or special stain removal. - Clean empty hampers. - Set the proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen. - Clean up machines and surrounding areas. - Stock linen room with cleaned product. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel. - Summon bell-staff assistance to escort guests to their rooms as appropriate. - Provide safety deposit boxes for guest by pulling the box from the vault and carrying it to the customer. File access slips in room order. - Operate facsimile machine to send, receive, and log incoming transmissions. Notify guests of incoming faxes using the message function of the computer. - Use the photocopier to make copies of items as required. - File registration cards in room number order. - Retrieve registration cards from the files for each check out. - Other duties as assigned by the supervisor such as assisting PBX operators or reservations agents. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. - Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error. - Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. - Ability to stand and move throughout front office and continuously perform essential job functions. - Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. - Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. - Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations. - Experience with Galaxy systems is a plus but not required.
