BOSTON HARBOR HOTEL   JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for the cleaning of the kitchen, as well as assisting with the employee dining room.   Experience: Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience, previous Hospitality experience preferred.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities for the Steward include but are not limited to: - Handles and washes all glass, silverware, china, pots and pans and cooking utensils utilized by the banquet and culinary staff. - Handles and polishes all silver and copper chaffers and serving utensils to include coffeepots, tea pots, trays, goose necks and water pitchers. - Stores the above listed items in a neat and organized manner, always storing items in their assigned areas. - Empties all garbage cans and the disposal of all cardboard utilized by the Culinary staff. - Cleans all trashcans and returning of them to the proper areas of the kitchens. - Cleans all dish machines on a weekly basis. - Cleans kitchen equipment as required by the Executive Steward. - Cleans all floors throughout the culinary departments and the mats used in these areas. - Disposes of broken glassware and dishes. - Ensures required hot boxes are clean, plugged in and stocked with the appropriate number of plates and covers for upcoming events. - Ensures all walls and ceilings are clean at all times - Follows checklist duties and responsibilities given by management and supervisors. - Arrives for work on time and in proper uniform. JOB SUMMARY The Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for assisting the Controller in supervising and administering all aspects of the Accounting and data process functions in the Accounting Office for the Boston Harbor Hotel.   CANDIDATE PROFILE Education: Bachelor’s degree required, specializing in Accounting or Finance, Business Administration, and or related major; or equivalent experience is required.   Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive Accounting Experience or in a similar role, preferably in the Hospitality Industry required. Accounting Management experience preferred.   KEY RESPONSIBILTIES The primary responsibilities for the Assistant Director of Finance include but are not limited to: - Responsible for the monthly closing of the books and all related matters. - Ensure that all work performed by the Accounting staff is completed in an accurate, efficient and professional manner. - In conjunction with the Controller, hire, train and evaluate all employees in the Accounting Office. - Prepare monthly profit and loss statements (accrual basis), balance sheets and all other financial and statistical reports required by the company. - Reconcile and maintain all required backup work papers, schedules and other documentation for balance sheet accounts. - Cooperate and work closely with the company’s outside auditors. - Assist the Controller with related accounting activities including: periodic inventories, budget preparation and analysis and internal audit. - Make day-to-day decisions concerning accounting transactions in line with Boston Harbor Hotel operating policies and procedures. - Assist other hotel departments with financial information upon request. - Must be able to analyze and resolve issues that come up with regard to all aspects accounting and finance. - Review the work of the Night Audit Staff, Income Auditor, Payroll/General Cashier, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. - Verify the coding of accounts payable invoices. - Review status of accounts receivables on a regular basis. - On a regular basis review the payroll and daily deposits for accuracy. - Communicate with other department heads to resolve any concerns or issues that may come up from time to time. - Prepare all journal entries for closing each accounting period.  Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis and Credit Card accounts on a daily basis to ensure that we received all monies owed. - Audit the General Cashier Vault on a regular basis (at least once a month). - Assist the Controller in any audits conducted by internal, external or government auditors. - Assist in inventory counts each month and quarter as needed. - Prepare and file all taxes as required by state, county and local laws and regulations. - Prepare monthly account reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. - Serve in the duties of Controller as needed.   JOB QUALIFICATIONS In addition to performance of the key responsibilities, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences: - Demonstrated ability and proficiency in all areas of Accounting, from Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Audit, Inventory Control, Payroll, Budgeting, Costing, P&L preparation and balance sheet reconciliation. - Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment. - Demonstrated ability to work with maximum efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail. - Ability to effectively lead and work cohesively as part of a team. - Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources. - Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. - Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing. Ability to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission is preferred.   Experience: Must have at least (1) or more years of experience, with a combination of previous Guest Services experience preferred.   KEY RESPONSIBILTIES The primary responsibilities for the Valet Parker include but are not limited to: - Inspect each vehicle before taking possession and mark tickets of findings, inform customers of valet rate. - Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Manager. - Have a thorough knowledge of the major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area of the hotel to be able to provide guest and patrons directions to various locations in the area, if needed. - Observe all traffic laws and safe driving practices. - Ensure prompt professional response to all guest requests for service. - Assist and relieve door staff and bell staff as requested and directed. - Open the door for all guests and patrons entering and exiting the hotel. - Maintaining the lobby entrance vestibule including cleaning, vacuuming, etc. as needed. - Acknowledge any approaching guest warmly and assist however needed. - Perform in a standard as well as an automatic automobile. - Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area. - Complete all other assignments, duties and tasks as assigned by the Concierge and Director of Guest Services.   JOB QUALIFICATIONS In addition to performance of key responsibilities, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences: - Demonstrated ability to work cohesively with a team. - Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. - Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
